Library at NMIMS Bangalore aims to serve the needs of faculty, research scholars, students and other members by providing an excellent collection of resources and services. The university strives to provide the latest collection of books journals, online sources, dissertations to students for course work and other research oriented work.
The library is also a department of the University’s central administration through which the library procures and manages all kind of books, journals, dissertations and case studies materials. The library is headed by a prudent committee who is in charge of the functioning of the library and the maintenance of the online library databases, Bloomberg etc.
NMIMS School of Business Management Bangalore library is automated with KOHA software. Library is Wi-Fi enabled,
well-furnished and air-conditioned. Spread over 447 sq m. with a seating capacity for over 220 students, digital library access 19 PCs, and 04
Bloomberg terminals. Library OPAC (online public access catalogue) is functioning 24X7.

It is an online system that provides users with access to the library’s catalogue and allows them to search for resources, such as books, journals, DVDs, and other materials, from any internet-connected device. Web OPACs have replaced traditional card catalogs and offer a more user-friendly and efficient way to locate and access library materials.

Rules and Regulations
- Library will remain open Monday to Saturday from 8.00am to 8.00pm and Sunday from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Library will be closed on govt. holiday.
- Participants are required to carry their NMIMS participant card and staff to carry their NMIMS staff identity card to get entry and to use the Library, and must produce this when required doing so by an authorized person. This card must be used only by the member to whom it is issued.
- Bags and personnel belongings are not allowed inside the Library. For reasons of security, bags and other personal possessions should not be left unattended. NMIMS Library has no responsibility in case of damage or theft of personal property.
- Silence is required in study areas. The use of mobile phones in the Library is prohibited. Phones should be either switched off, or set to silent ring mode. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in a fine and/or exclusion from the Library. Violation of the rules will lead to fine and /or suspension of Participant for 3 weeks.
- Eatables are not allowed in the library.
- Photography, filming, video-taping and audio-taping in the Library is not allowed.
- Manually operated personal equipment should not be used without the prior permission of the Librarian.
- Users are required to comply with copyright regulations as displayed by the photocopiers.
- Data retrieved from the Library’s electronic resources may not be used for purposes other than teaching, research, personal educational development, administration and management of NMIMS, and development work associated with any of the aforementioned. Use of the data is not permitted for consultancy or services leading to commercial exploitation of the data, or for work of significant benefit to the employer of participants on industrial placement or part-time courses. Users must also comply with the specific requirements of individual data providers. Passwords must never be revealed to others.
- Loan allowances and periods are defined in guides to Library services. A reserved item is subject to recall once it has been on loan for Ten days.
- No library materials can be taken out of the library without the permission of the library staff.
- Participants are expected to return borrowed books within 10 days. Renewal of a book can only be done twice continuously. If a participant returns a book beyond the respective due date, they will be charged a fine of 3.00 per day per book. If the book is not returned after one month from the date of issue, the participant will be suspended from the library for one month. Overdue items will be notified to participants by e-mail to their NMIMS e-mail account. If a participant has outstanding fines or charges, borrowing rights will be withdrawn and passwords for accessing electronic services will be withheld until those fines are paid. Reference books, journals/magazines, and audio/video material are strictly to be used/viewed in the library only.
- Users are responsible for material borrowed on their cards and will be required to pay for any damage to, or loss of, material borrowed at replacement cost, plus an administrative charge. Borrowing rights are withdrawn while payment is outstanding.
- The award of a NMIMS qualification will be deferred until all books have been returned and outstanding fines/charges paid.
- Shut down the computer after use.
