As the name itself evinces, MarGene- Marketing in our genes, is the student club of NMIMS Bangalore. It's the epitome of innovative improvisation. From solving corporate case studies to real-life marketing knockouts, from unleashing the creative territories of advertisement to enriching discussions with top corporates, this club's various inter and intra college events give the novice marketer a chance to develop his skills and test the waters before entering the corporate world.

MarGene strives to experience the various marketing concepts taught in the classroom through interaction with eminent industry experts, peer learning, and events. Our events focus on the main issues that all businesses face today and encourage participants to come up with solutions, benefiting the corporate community. The MarGene Mantra is to create something that 100 people love, not something that a million people like.


The club conducts events that test the marketing aptitude of the participants while encouraging them to think on-their-feet as well as out-of-the-box.


The National Case Study competition is the flagship event of MarGene. It is a unique platform to test one’s marketing skills, where one gets to work on a live case study. Since its inception in 2013, it has grown manifold and had been supported and appreciated by top companies like Singapore Airlines, Dollar, Prestige, Airtel, Uber, Zo Rooms, Raymond’s, Coca-Cola, Protein X, Volkswagen & CNBC. Conducted in 3 phases, the first round of this National level event is an online quiz, followed by presenting an abstract of a case study. The shortlisted teams are invited to present their solution and ideas to the esteemed jury for the final round.

We had participation from hundreds of colleges inclusive of top tier B-Schools from all over the country. In the previous edition of Markopolis XIMB, Masters’ Union and IIM Lucknow emerged as the winners of this coveted title.


Mar’Chaos was a very successful event which MarGene is proud to have conducted during Nfluence’23. The event consisted of various rounds. Teams were tested on awareness about the brands along with their taglines followed by identifying famous jingles of all time and then finally came the test of team work with dumb charades.

Teams had to brainstorm and got an opportunity to showcase on the spot creativity when presented with unique combination of topics where teams came in pair to convince and sell the product to the other team. The final showdown saw teams curating some extremely funny and creative advertisement which was the highlight of the event.

As the name suggests, the rounds created a "chaos” of ideas, creativity and fun!!


MarGene always prides itself on being ahead of the curve and with that in mind MarGene organises workshops which helps in gaining insights and forms integral part of MBA journey.

Last time MarGene conducted a sales workshop which provided important insights on the nitty-gritty of sales and approach where the students were given an opportunity to get a hands-on experience, showcase and learn the skill of selling a product.

Panel Discussion:

The panel discussion served as a platform for experts in the field of marketing to share their insights, experiences, and valuable knowledge about navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of digital marketing. The theme of the discussion was "Marketing in the digital age". The dynamic discussion delved into marketing as it was yesterday, is today and would be tomorrow.

Our esteemed panellists, Mr. Arjun Majumdar, Mr. Punith Kumar U, and Mr. Praveen Daga enlightened the audience with their profound knowledge, insightful perspectives, and expertise in their respective fields which were truly inspirational.
