MUDRA is the Finance club of NMIMS-Bengaluru. Mudra is a Sanskrit word which means symbol or token of currency, hence emphasizes the importance of "money”. MUDRA encourages participation and discussions on major economic and finance related issues and gives students an edge by building their financial acumen.

We believe that in this global world, we should not only be concerned with our economic policies but also connect the dots; and critically understand various policies adopted by the governments and the financial institutions over the world. the club also endeavours to serve as a bridge between the industry and the student community.

Role of Mudra Club:

The club is a student-driven initiative which comprises of a core group of both senior and junior members who are passionate about knowledge-sharing and learning about the intricacies of finance in a fun way. It organizes a number of events to ensure that the students are better prepared to handle the nuances of the financial services industry. It focuses on extending the practical finance education with job specific knowledge and connect members with other finance professionals and corporates. The club aims to disseminate the knowledge of finance amongst its seekers and provide a platform to students to showcase their talent by means of various inter and intra college events, guest lectures, workshops, information sessions about careers/companies and virtual stock trading competitions.

Events:

2022 was a productive year for Mudra as it organized series of events, guest lectures and discussions:-

Valorem: Valorem is an Equity research competition organized by Mudra, and was held during Nfluence. It is a national level competition which saw participants from top B-schools of India. It was conducted in three rounds, starting with a Quiz, followed by an Equity Research Presentation/Report with Valuation Model, and a Final Presentation. The participants were evaluated on seven parameters by our esteemed jury members.

Speaker Sessions: Mudra organized various guest lectures in the finance domain where in we host speakers from reputed companies to interact with the students of NMIMS Bengaluru and share their vast knowledge and experience with the students.

This year, we had the honour of hosting prominent speakers such as Mr. Karthik Balisagar, Mr. Sunil Kolangara, Dr. Sashi Sivaramakrishna, Mr. Prasanna Lohar and Mr. Ranganath Akumalla as part of the Speaker Sessions.

SFincepts 3.0: Fincepts is a collective effort by Mudra, in which we strive to educate NMIMS Bengaluru students through a series of social media posts. "Commercial Banking" was the theme of this year's Fincepts.

Quizzes and Competitions: In the course of the year, Mudra held many online and offline quizzes and intra and inter college competitions, most prominent of which was Fin-o-wiz, majorly an online quiz campaign that ran for 3 months and aimed testing the knowledge of the finance enthusiasts through various conceptual questions.

Mentorship Programs: Mudra offers mentorship programs for students wherein students can reach out to the senior club members for assistance regarding their finance course or any finance related query, in general. This program is launched as part of a collective effort of Mudra under the guidance of the campus director, Dr. Narayani Ramachandran.

Learning Initiatives: Carrying the legacy ahead, Mudra also organised various online campaigns in the previous year as part of its learning initiatives, namely Weekly Technical Chart Analysis of various companies, in-depth research on various financial aspects and happenings in and around the world, understandings of company financial statements and many more.

This year apart from the events mentioned above, Mudra plans many exciting events, workshops, discussions etc. like- Stock Trading Simulations, Business Valuation Models, Discussion Forums, Cryptocurrency and Blockchain workshop and so on.
